I've bought a few that I'm excited to read. I'm STILL reading Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote, and I just bought another Capote book, In Cold Blood. I'm really excited to read both of them. I also have The Outliers by Malcom Gladwell and A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron on the list. On the next trip to the book store I'm thinking of picking up Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman.
I've gotten so bored with the typical (and I quote the Barnes and Noble headers) "teen paranormal romace" books, and I need recommendations for good, easy to read books. I refuse to read Hemingway. I know he is a great author and all but I just don't find his books interesting while I'm reading them. Sorry to offend anyone! Truman Capote on the other hand, is probably one of my favorite authors (and not just because he wrote Breakfast at Tiffany's).

I really enjoyed the Summer series by Jenny Han. Well-written, lovely easy reads.
The Hunger Games, obviously. So good.
That's all I've stumbled upon in the past few months, sadly.
If you are looking for a good easy "girly" read I would recommend anything by Jane Green, my favorite book is Mr. Maybe.
If you want to step out the box and read something more exciting like adventure/thriller/mystery I love books by James Rollins. His books are similar to Dan Brown's (if you've read the Da Vinci Code or anything else & liked it) I think you would love James Rollins, look for Map of Bones or Black Order. I find them easy to read since they are so action-packed!

So many good authors out there, but speaking of Hemingway, he has a fantastic non-fiction book called A Moveable Feast that is polar-opposite to his other fiction works, promise! Also, in terms of non-fiction, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is phenomenal...the feel of a great story but it's all true.
As far as authors, Roald Dahl and Fitzgerald are my favorites. Another great one is Madeleine L'Engle. All older authors, though.

Jodi Picoult and James Patterson are my favorites. Any book by either of them is a winner!
hmm, since you're tired of the paranormal teen books (which I love), I would suggest checking out DeeAnne Gist. Her books are romance and amazing. the scenes behind closed doors are kept there so if that's a concern, then you won't have to worry about it :)

Easy, girlie, and addictive? ANYTHING by Lesley Lokko. Disregard the descriptions on the back- they don't do the books any justice. Start with Sundowners, or Saffron Skies. :)

Water for Elephants was REALLY good. Parts of it were really hard to read, but it was such a gripping and well written book. For a class on "Classroom Literature," I read the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson and that was REALLY good. Jodi Picoult is also really good for books that draw you right in and they're very easy to read! Nineteen Minutes and The Pact were two of my favorites by her! :) Good luck! xo
