The world's gone Gaga!

The Brit Awards - Show

I just recently (and by recently I mean like, five minutes ago) stumbled upon this article about Lady Gaga. It is interesting to see just how big of an impact she is having on everybody, including celebrities. And I'm not even talking music here, this is just her fashion. Here is a link to the article:

http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/fashion/article7127191.ece

I admire Lady Gaga for her daring fashions. She makes my everyday clothes seem so boring! I think we should be inspired by Lady Gaga, but maybe we shouldn't take it too literally. I don't think it is appropriate to go to class wearing sky-high heels, a sparkly leotard, and hair that seems like it is alive, but I think people should be encouraged to take more fashion risks and just have fun with what they wear everyday! Now, if you want to channel a Gaga look in the club that really is Gaga-esque, go for it! You might get some weird stares, but hey, would Lady Gaga care? Nope!

What do you think? Is the world really going Gaga? Do you like her styles? Would you rock something Lady Gaga-esque? Post a link to a picture of your favorite Lady Gaga outfit! Tell me what you think!

Rainy Day Movies

Well, it's raining outside today! And it's not just a drizzle either, I'm talking somebody up above had a very, very bad day. Anyway, I managed to make it to Blockbuster in this downpour to get a movie. When it's raining, it is the perfect time to rent a fluffy, happy movie and watch it with your mom or a few of your girlfriends. Here is a list of good rainy day movies to entertain you during your bad weather blues!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Does this need explaining? The happy, free-spirited Holly Golightly is sure to lift anyone's mood on a rainy day! Not only that, her effortless style in this movie is so inspiring! Definitely my favorite Audrey Hepburn movie.

Baby Mama

I love watching Baby Mama. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey worked so well together in this movie! It even had me laughing about it afterwards! And the best part, it had a happy ending! Yay :) I still laugh everytime I hear "Bitch, I don't know your life!". Haha :)

Love and Other Disasters

I'm not sure why more people haven't heard of this movie. It is one of those cute fluffy movies that you just want to watch over and over again! And plus, it has Brittany Murphy (R.I.P. :( She was so amazing), which automatically gives it awesome points in my book! Her character has sort of a Holly Golightly-esque feel to her too! Which is another plus! Two thumbs up from me!

The House Bunny

This movie is, in one word, hilarious! Shelly is such the stereotype for blonde Playboy bunnies, but that just makes the movie all the more funny. She is so oblivious to things around her, but always stays cheerful and happy. My friends and I laugh at this movie pretty much the whole way through, this is a great movie if you are looking for a good laugh.

The Proposal

Oh Sandra Bullock, how I love you! She is such a great actress, and this is one of my favorite movies with her in it. Another cute, funny movie with a happy ending. There is one scene in particular that I could NOT stop laughing at, but I won't be a spoiler ;) watch it and you'll see what I mean!

The Ugly Truth

I knew I would like this movie before I even saw it. Why? Because it has Gerard Butler in it! YUM! But, besides that, this is such a funny movie! I laughed so hard during this movie, and it also has a happy ending! Rainy day movies are best when they have a happy ending! But, to all my readers out there under the age of maybe 14, it is rated R and does have some somewhat mature content. But hey, I know I watched movies like this when i was 13, so what the heck, go for it girls!

Well, that's all my rainy day movie reccomendations for now! What are your favorite movies to watch on a rainy day? Have you seen any of these movies? What are your opinions on them? Leave a comment/give me feedback please!

5 Favorite (Recent) Beauty Buys for the Summer

Aveeno Continuous Radiance Moisturizing Lotion

Ok, playing soccer has given me a seriously messed up tan, and it was very hard to fix. I had a farmers tan from wearing short sleeve shirts, a shorts tan, and a high sock tan! I figured that since it would take a long time to fix it by tanning (which by the way, I am trying to stop doing. No skin cancer for me!) that I would try out a self tanner. This lotion does not give immediate tan, however. After a few uses it will gradually deepen your skin color AND moisturize! And the best part, it doesn't smell bad like a lot of other self tanners. I would totally reccomend this product.

Neutrogena Spectrum Advanced Face Sunblock

Also because of soccer, I was constantly out in the hot hot sun. My face does not tan at all, instead, it burns. I don't know about everybody else, but I do NOT want to expose my face to that much sun, because it will lead to wrinkles! This sunblock is spf 100+ and does not make your face look greasy or sunscreen-y, if that makes sense. It doesn't cause breakouts either! It is by far the best sunblock I have ever used.

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Redness Primer

Sometimes I did forget to apply my sunscreen, and ended up with a nasty sunburn on my face. My face is naturally more red than most people's so this anti-redness primer by L'Oreal makes my face look about 10x's better! I apply it after my moisturizer and then put my foundation on top of it and my skin looks GREAT! Be warned though, if you do not use foundation after the primer, it may leave parts of your skin looking like it has a strange green-ish color.

Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup

I got a sample of this makeup in a magazine, and decided to try it out one day. Usually I don't try samples from magazines, and when I do, I usually don't like them that much. But this foundation is great! The ads say it will help clear acne when you use it, but I haven't been using it long enough to know if it does that. I will do an update post on this makeup once I figure it out though! But, it evens out my skintone very well and it blends really nicely too. It isn't too heavy and looks very natural

Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets

I think these speak for themselves. If you have oily skin, these are great to keep in your purse or even your wallet this summer (and fall and winter and spring). I use them every morning and I keep them in my purse so if my face gets a little too oily throughout the day, all I have to do is dab one of these babies all over my face and BAM no more oil :) They are easy to carry, dispose of, and best of all, they do not smudge your makeup off!

Inspired by: Leigh Anne from The Blind Side

I watched The Blind Side for the first time last night (yes I know, I'm a little late) and I couldn't help but be drawn to Sandra Bullock's (aka Leigh Anne) outfits in this movie! She knows how to work nude heels so perfectly. Here is a little inspiration to help you get your fix of Sandra Bullock today! By the way, if you haven't seen this movie, I highly reccomend it!

Outfit #1

This outfit is very clean cut and proper, but still fun. Pair a simple white pencil skirt with a dark colored tee for contrast, I chose dark blue like they did in the movie. Leigh Anne wears nude heels alot throughout the movie, and they pair perfectly with this outfit. The gold belt (you could change it out for silver) helps to show off a great figure and add a little pop to the outfit. She also wears a cross pendant throughout the movie, but if crosses aren't your thing, change it out for another simple necklace. Add a pair of big black sunglasses and you are good to go!

Outfit #2

Kind of similar to the first oufit, very preppy and clean cut. Have fun with the color of the dress, pastels will look great with the nude heels. Again, the big white watch and the key necklace add a few nice details to the outfit. Experiment with different kinds of pendants for the necklace, and choose one that really shows off your personality. Finally, the bag gives it sort of a beachy summer vibe and also compliments the dress and the heels.

Outfit #3

Here, we are breaking away from Leigh Anne's typical nude pumps. Instead, we have a plain white dress with an off white belt at the waist, and instead of nude pumps, we have mint green pumps! Mint green is a fresh change up for the nude pumps, and the green earrings to match! But have no fear, those who do love the nude, we have a nuetral colored bag to tote around all your essentials :)

Hope you enjoyed my first "Inspired by" post. Please please please leave feedback in the comments, I am very new to this and I would love to know what I need to improve on! Have you seen The Blind Side? Give your opinion!

FAQ

Just some random facts about me, if you have a question post it in the comments :)

What made you want to start a blog?

I have been reading various beauty and fashion blogs for quite some time now. I think the blog that got me hooked was College Fashion (and yes I read it even though I'm not in college), and I still read it. It's a great blog and they have some really great tips, so if you've never read it you should definitely go check it out!

Will you add my blog to your blogroll?

Send me a link to your blog and I will check it out. I can't promise that it will appear on the blogroll, because then I would get a bunch of blogs that have like one post and nothing else. If your blog is new and has potential, I will probably add it to my blogroll to help you get visitors. And I would appreciate it if you would do the same for me, because I am just starting out too. But, it's not required.

What are your favorite foods?

Italian and sushi! Yum!!

Do you color your hair?

Nope, I'm a natural blonde. I have been considering adding some streaks though. Not like highlights though, I want to add light blue streaks, just for the summer. Like in the movie Aquamarine. I think it looks really cool and I've also seen that trend popping up on the runways and in the most recent issue of Teen Vogue.

What hair straightener do you use?

Currently I use the FHI. Its a great straightener and they are only like $75.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I currently have a West Highland White Terrier. His name is Sir McDuff V, but we call him Duffy for short :) I love him so much, I'll post a picture of him soon.

Who are your favorite celebrities?

Oh goodness, I have so many. Audrey Hepburn, obviously. Umm, Lady Gaga, Lauren Conrad, Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Anna Wintour, Abbey Lee Kershaw, aaand that's about all I can think of right now.

Do you play any sports?

Soccer! It's a rough sport, beware.

Do you wear glasses or contacts?

Contacts most days. I need to get my glasses re-fitted because they practically fall off my face every time I wear them.

What things do you hate?

I absolutely HATE HATE HATE HATE feet! I also hate being tickled. Very much.

What are you listening to now?

Money Honey- Lady Gaga

Are you looking forward to anything?

Sex and the City 2!! And relaxing this summer after a hard school year.

What kind of car do you drive?

2004 silver Saturn Ion named Shirley :) love her to death.

What are your favorite gifts you've recieved?

My black Ray-Ban Wayfarers my mom got me for Christmas! I am obsessed with them! My Indo Board is also a great one. I'll do a post on what that is at another time, maybe even a video of me on it haha :) oh and my silver heart necklace from Tiffany's with my initials on it that my mom got me when we were in New York for my 13th birthday. I love you Mommy :)
