Currently Loving - Army Green

I've never been keen on this army green color, but it's been growing on me lately. I think I wrongfully put it in a "bleh" category for a reason unknown to me.

Army Green Under $100

Some may call it "olive green". I really think it is a great color for fall, I'm hoping I can find a nice coat in this color.

Army Chic

I can't wait to try this trend! An army green top will look so good with some distressed jeans and lace up booties. Smokey eyeliner too, obviously. Maybe I'll wear a whistle around my neck and blow it when people are taking up the entire sidewalk and/or walking too slow. Hmmm...tempting.

Are you going to get into the army green trend this fall?

Inspired By: Wedding Season

Wedding season is officially in full force down here in the south.
They seem so stressful. The bride, bridesmaids, maid of honor, groom, and everyone involved in the planning process really. It takes a lot of hard work to get those sparkly champagne flutes with just the right amount of sparkle.
Sometimes you just can't make it to some of the events, which sucks! (or doesn't suck, depending on your feelings about wedding season).
But just because you can't go doesn't mean you can't still feel that feeling of dressing up in a clean, spring/summer outfit, decked out with flowy fabrics or frills, and of course the jewelry.

Wedding Season Casual

Of course you would never wear white to another girl's wedding, but you're in the clear since you aren't actually there. Pair it with some pastels, heart shaped sunglasses (feel the love?), and drink a yummy cocktail and toast to the happy couple in spirit.

Wedding Season: Borrowed & Blue

If you do miss the wedding/wedding event, it doesn't mean you can't get dressed up! Take to the real wedding spirit and wear something "borrowed and blue". So technically speaking, you don't even have to buy something new since it should be "borrowed". But again, who needs an excuse to buy a new nail polish?

I wish I had more weddings to attend this season. I love wedding atmospheres. Everyone is so dressed up, the decorations are almost always on point (thanks Pinterest!), and the bride always looks stunning. Oh well, I'll just take my own advice and dress for the season.

Shop! Inspired by Daenerys Targaryen

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you drank water over the weekend.

I'm so behind catching up on Game of Thrones, and every time Daenerys Targaryen comes on the screen I swoon at her outfits. She goes from looking like a desert badass to a pretty, flowy queen (or Khaleesi).

Daenerys Targaryen

She kind of has the Greek Goddess look about her, but she also wears leather and asymmetrical skirts and tops. Maxi dresses appear a lot in the show - mostly blue, grey, white, and other dusty colors. The only time you ever really see her shoes is when she is wearing boots, but you can't go wrong with sandals.

Daenerys Targaryen Target

Woohoo Target! They have temporary tattoos that would work so well if you're planning on going out for a night with a Daenerys inspired outfit. And anything with a dragon on it will be appropriate. We are being inspired by the Mother of Dragons, here!

Daenerys Targaryen H&M

H&M had an awesome selection of maxi dresses. I love the asymmetrical grey dress that they have. She wears a lot of asymmetrical skirts in the beginning. Those earrings look a little bit like dragon eggs or dragon scales, too!

Daenerys Targaryen Kohls

And finally, Kohl's! That skirt is perfect for this look. Asymmetrical and dark grey! All we need now is a brown crop top, some black fingerless gloves and boots and we'll be in business.

Are you as addicted to Game of Thrones as I am? What do you think of the Khaleesi herself? Do her outfits inspire you? Let me know what you think! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Inspired by: Jelly Bellys!

John is in class so I got a hold of my computer to do a post while I can! The Blogger iPad app is way too frustrating.

I don't like normal jelly beans, but I do love some Jelly Bellys. 50 whole flavors to choose from! Even though some of them are really gross, the good ones are good. My favorites are Tutti Fruitti,  Strawberry Daiquiri, and Mixed Berry Smoothie. The super fruity ones of course. So here is a post in honor of these (mostly) good candies! Enjoy your sugar high!

A Jelly Belly cocktail seems like a pretty good idea! Actually cocktails in general are always a good idea. I found this one on Tablespoon.com and changed it up a little bit. It sounds almost too sweet, so I probably wouldn't be able to drink more than one. It's a cute Easter/girls night/cocktail party/other occasion drink though.

Ingredients
3 oz cotton candy flavored vodka
1/4 cup Bubblegum and Very Cherry Jelly Bellys
2 oz orange flavored liquor
ice
optional: 6 red and pink Jelly Bellys (you choose the flavors) and lemon slices

Directions
1. Place 2 martini glasses in refrigerator 1 hour before serving. In small bowl, pour vodka over 1/4 cup Jelly Bellys. Cover and refrigerate.

2. Fill martini shaker with ice. Shake the bowl with the vodka and Jelly Bellys. Strain into shaker and discard Jelly Bellys. Add liquor and shake well.
Optional: add 3 Jelly Bellys to the bottom of each glass and garnish each with a lemon slice.

3. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Inspired by: Jelly Bellys Tutti Fruitti

I'm almost disgusted with myself for making an outfit this girly. But how can you not with a name like Tutti Fruitti?? I was thinking about heels with the dress but I think the blue Vans are adorable. This would've been a super cute Easter outfit but it's still wearable for spring/summer.

Inspired by: Jelly Bellys Mixed Berry Smoothie

A little less girly, a little more polished. I LOVE lace shorts for this summer. Reminder: get as much use out of your blazer as you can before it gets too hot! But for real I'm really loving lace this season. Actually I love lace every season but I am in dire need of some lace shorts/lace skirt.

Well I hope you got a sugar high just from reading this post. I have a jar of Jelly Bellys over on my desk that I'm going to go devour now.

If you did end up trying the only water this week challenge, how are you doing? I was actually doing alright with my water consumption up until I wrote that post. I guess thinking about it made me really crave a sweet tea and a coke. Ah well, back to water I go I guess. I hope.

Don't forget, giveaway coming soon! I have most of the items collected, just waiting for a few more!

What's your favorite Jelly Belly flavor?

Happy Monday!

By the time this post is up, Monday will be almost over! Or at least halfway over. You've gotten this far, good job!
This post is just a little motivation and a little update from yours truly.

I'm in the library right now with the boyfriend in between classes. He's studying for Spanish and I'm blogging/deciding what to write about tomorrow. I need an opinion. Since I've started blogging, I've written with my text starting on the left. Recently (like this post and my other most recent Lilly and Target post), I've written with center text. Any opinions on which looks better? I can't decide!

I'm in the process of cleaning out my sidebars of places to shop and blogs to read. Some blogs don't exist anymore, same with the shops. Send me any cool blog or shop links and I'll check them out.

Be on the lookout for a giveaway soon too. I tweeted about this before but I swear I get more excited about giveaways than ya'll do. I've also realized my southern charm has been coming out and I've been saying "ya'll" way too much. Sorry!

Have ya'll (see?) seen The Usual Suspects? My boyfriend and I watched it for the first time yesterday because I had never seen it and it was SO GOOD! If you haven't seen it you should really watch it. He, of course, hasn't seen my favorite movie. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in case I haven't mentioned it before. It's one of those movies I can watch over and over again and not get tired of. I love the book too. I'm in the middle of reading some of Hunter S. Thompson's essays. I'd highly recommend reading some if you haven't already. I really like the way he writes (Gonzo journalism), and nobody else has really been able to capture it as well as he does. Seriously, read the book, then watch the movie.

Hmmm...I can't really think of much else to say. I'm going to try to be an actual fashion blogger and post pictures of outfits I'm wearing. The trouble is getting good photos and finding someone to take them. If you have any tips for taking good fashion/outfit photos, please let me know!

Well, I guess that's all for now. How has your Monday been so far? Have you read or seen Fear and Loathing? Also, pretty pretty please give me any tips on taking good fashion photos. Have a good day!

Inspired by: Summer Fruits

I'm on a roll so far with my blog posts! I may even be doing too many (more than one a day), I'm just too excited to be blogging again I can't wait to post an idea when it comes into my head!

I was in H&M with one of my best friends about a week ago, and I realized that they had a LOT of clothes with watermelon and banana patterns on them. Bananas are my favorite fruit (and word, for some reason :P ), so I had to get a makeup bag with bananas all over it. I use it to hold my art pencils for when I draw though, not makeup. Anyway, I was inspired to create some outfits inspired by fruit to get even more into the summer mood. Hope you all enjoy! :)

1. Blue Raspberry
Blue Raspberry

I always found it strange that candy companies would name flavors "blue raspberry"…because that's not a fruit. Blueberries and raspberries are fruits (well, berries), but blue raspberries don't exist as far as I know! Nevertheless, I think the combination of blue and a raspberry color make an awesome color combination! I thought the little green earrings were a cute accent to represent the stems and leaves of blueberries and raspberries. I will definitely be rocking my blue dresses this summer, I just need to find some more raspberry-esque colored accessories!

2. Go Bananas!
Go bananas!

This outfit is my favorite out of the three, but I'm biased because I love bananas. The little banana shoulder bag is just too cute for words! This can easily be worn by anyone, most of the basic elements you probably already have in your wardrobe, with the exception of the banana bag. The shoes could also be switched out for some sandals or flats.

3. Mellow Watermelon
Mellow Watermelon

I would order that skirt in a heartbeat if I was tall enough to wear maxi skirts! It's such a perfect watermelon color, especially with the red crop top. I thought the necklace looked a little bit like watermelon seeds, which makes it even cuter. Again, the shoes can be subbed for heels for us shorties. I just wanted to keep them neutral here because the main focus is on the more "in your face" colors.

What's your favorite fruit this summer? Post or send me pictures of an outfit you made inspired by a fruit (or berry)! Also try and check out H&M's fruit patterned clothes and accessories, they're so cute! I'm going to go back for that banana bag!

**ALSO! I will be having a giveaway very soon, so stay tuned. I'll post on here with the official rules and such but I will also be announcing it on Twitter**

Tiffany Time

I realized that even though my blog name is "Breakfast at Gracey's", I haven't done very many posts regarding Breakfast at Tiffany's or Tiffany's at all for that matter. So in honor of the movie and Tiffany's, here is some Tiffany & Co. inspiration!

photo taken by me :)

"What I found does the most good is just to get into a taxi and go to Tiffany's. It calms me down right away, the quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there" -Holly Golightly in Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's

The pendant above is what my lovely boyfriend got me for our anniversary. 2 years! :) I couldn't be happier, he's the best! I still have to get a chain for it--right now I'm using one from another necklace I have. I have yet to take it off (except to take a picture of it); it's pretty safe to say that this is my favorite necklace.

This post was originally going to be my thoughts on the movie vs. the book Breakfast at Tiffany's. However, I've seen the movie a million times and read the book once, so I think I'm going to read the book another time or two so that I can really give a good opinion on both. That and it's been a while since I read the book and I'm a bit foggy on the details.

That's it for now! I'm still looking for a good photo editing software for my Macbook so if anyone has suggestions, please let me know! Right now I'm using Gimp and I'm not really sure how I feel about it yet.

Inspired by: Eeyore!

I'm back! I'm so sorry I started slacking on my blog, just like I suspected I would. I finally finished all of my college applications, so that's out of the way at least. Hopefully I'll be back on a regular posting schedule now that things are slowing down a bit.

But for now, a new "inspired by" post, inspired by Eeyore! :)

Inspired by: Eeyore

It's kind of hard not to think gloomy and grey when you hear "Eeyore". But he actually has a nice soft color scheme going on. He even has a cute pink bow on his tail. This outfit would be pretty perfect for a rainy day, or even a not rainy day! In order to keep the outfit from looking depressing, I added some soft colors and of course the sparkly Toms! :) And of course, the cute "fantasy" necklace from Disney Couture!

Eeyore #2

This outfit is a little darker for night time, but also has some soft accents like the first outfit. There are also some little Eeyore details, like the bow on the shoes and the teardrop necklace. That Dior eyeshadow palette also screams Eeyore colors to me.

Well that's it for this inspired by post. I think I'm going to do a lot on Disney characters because they are really fun and tend to have awesome color schemes and details to work with. I'm also going to try my hardest to not be a slacker (in my blogging life and school life) and get some more posts up more frequently! I'm so sorry it's taken me this long! Oh and I'm still going to do that Breakfast at Tiffany's book/movie comparison!

What is your favorite Disney character or Disney movie?

Normal Gaga?

I was meandering around Refinery29 just now and stumbled upon this article, showing Laday Gaga arriving in New York looking actually quite normal, which is a big shock coming from her.

image via refinery29

I'm a Gaga fan in general, so while I do think her crazy outfits are very out there, I give her props for them. I mean, it would be hard to pull off her outfits in everyday life, but it gives me inspiration to try new things (in terms of fashion and beauty) and think outside the box. But I also think it's a nice change up to see her in some normal clothing. She kept it pretty simple with all black with bright red lips and nails. I approve! But the question is: is this a one time thing or will she downplay her outfits more often?

My take on her normal outfit:

What do you think? Do you like Lady Gaga in her crazy outfits or something more normal like this? Do you think she will continue to "dress down"?

Inspired by: Sharks

In the spirit of getting ready for shark week, and just loving sharks in general, I decided to do an inspired by sharks post! You all already know how much I love sharks and what not (post on it here). Also, congratulations to Tori who won the giveaway! Thanks to everyone who entered! I'm going to have another giveaway coming up soon so be on the lookout for that one. Anyway, hope you like the shark outfits :)

Inspired by Sharks1

Yes, I am in fact buying that book bag for the upcoming school year. This outfit is a perfect "going to class" outfit, complete with the super cool shark book bag!

I love the gold shark ring! They also had a bracelet but I liked the ring better. Screw you small fingers, that's now TWO shark jewelry items I can't wear because of you!

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! Click on the pictures if you want more information on the items.

Inspired by: Sushi

Sushi? What an odd thing to be inspired by. I think it's fun to find inspiration in out of the ordinary things. Like my iced passion tea lemonade outfits, and Sarah from Shades of Sarah who gets inspiration from buildings such as Grand Central Station. And sushi is one of my favorite foods, so I decided to do some outfits inspired by it!

By the way, aren't these the cutest?! Plush sushi! My boyfriend got me the shrimp one and it is so cute! I named him Martin :)

This was such a fun post to do because I adore sushi. What do you think about sushi? What random things inspire you?

Free as a Bird: Feather Inspiration

I don't know why, but lately I've been loving feathers. I got feather hair extensions about 2 months ago and I loved them, but they fell out so I have to get them put back in at my next hair appointment. So, here's some feathery inspiration :)

Feathers

Of course I wouldn't wear this all at once, that would be a bit of feather overkill! But individually, I would DIE to have these pieces!

I think part of my love for feathers comes from my jealousy of birds. They are so free, they have no boundaries. I decided a few months ago that when I turn 18 (5 more months), that I want to get a tattoo. I couldn't decide of what or where, but I've decided on a feather on my neck behind my ear :) Something similar to this, even though I hate that it's on a foot. Bleh.

Lastly, I found this really cute top at Forever21 yesterday that I am obsessed with. It's a little big on me, but I love wearing it as an off the shoulder slouchy tee kind of thing. And it will be perfect for summer to wear to the beach over my bathing suit with jean shorts!

Hope you all enjoyed this inspiration post! Do feathers and birds inspire you? What else in nature do you find inspiration from! Let me know what you think :)

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy Independence Day everyone!!!! I am sooo sorry I haven't posted all week! Hopefully next week I can get back up to posting at least one everyday.

I am celebrating the 4th today by going to a cookout one of my friends is having. It's going to be super casual, and we will probably go swimming so I am not really dressing up tonight.

Two of my best friends got back from Australia (one of them is the one having the cookout) so I'm really excited to catch up with them :)

How are you celebrating this weekend? Fireworks? Lot's of yummy food? Have a great weekend guys, and pleeease be safe!

Inspired by: (500) Days of Summer

If you've ever seen 500 Days of Summer, you were probably noticing Summer's cute, summery outfits. She wore a lot of blues, florals, bows, and other girly vintage elements

Outfit #1

Product info: Dress- Odd Molly, Studded canvas flats- Forever21, Jazz feet flats- Modcloth, Tote- Marc Jacobs, Flower headband- Arden B.

Summer wore cute dresses and skirts throughout the movie, so I chose a light blue (also seen often) dress with two shoe options, both of which are a pretty light pink. I didn't see her wearing much jewelry (unless I wasn't paying close attention, which is possible), so for accessories I chose a flower headband and a Marc Jacobs Tote.

Outfit #2

Product info: Blouse- Dorothy Perkins, Shorts- Marc Jacobs, Tights- Asos, Oxford pumps- Forever21, Earrings- Miss Selfridge, Belt- Topshop, Nail polish- Chanel.

Summer wears a similar outfit in the movie, with a blue blouse and black shorts. To spice it up a little, I added a belt at the waist and pearl earrings with black bows. During the fall (or, if you live somewhere where it doesn't feel like an oven during the summer), add sheer black tights underneath the black shorts. Summer wears flats a lot, but I think the oxford pumps are cute too. (By the way, I'm an idiot and didn't realize that the Chanel nail polish in the picture was a base coat, not an actual color. But a pretty light pink would look very nice).

Outfit #3

Product info: Dress- Matches, Shoes- Tenover6, Bag- Marc Jacobs, Necklace- Asos, Headband- Juicy Couture.

For the final outfit, I chose a breezy pink dress and paired it with light blue lace up oxfords and a light blue Marc Jacobs bag. Sticking to summer's love for bows, I added a bow necklace with pearls, and a flowery headband just for fun.

Thanks for your ideas for this post :) I don't know why I chose oxfords for like, every outfit, but I think they look very cute and summery.

What do you think? What would you like to see an "inspired by" post of? Let me know!

Inspired by: Leigh Anne from The Blind Side

I watched The Blind Side for the first time last night (yes I know, I'm a little late) and I couldn't help but be drawn to Sandra Bullock's (aka Leigh Anne) outfits in this movie! She knows how to work nude heels so perfectly. Here is a little inspiration to help you get your fix of Sandra Bullock today! By the way, if you haven't seen this movie, I highly reccomend it!

Outfit #1

This outfit is very clean cut and proper, but still fun. Pair a simple white pencil skirt with a dark colored tee for contrast, I chose dark blue like they did in the movie. Leigh Anne wears nude heels alot throughout the movie, and they pair perfectly with this outfit. The gold belt (you could change it out for silver) helps to show off a great figure and add a little pop to the outfit. She also wears a cross pendant throughout the movie, but if crosses aren't your thing, change it out for another simple necklace. Add a pair of big black sunglasses and you are good to go!

Outfit #2

Kind of similar to the first oufit, very preppy and clean cut. Have fun with the color of the dress, pastels will look great with the nude heels. Again, the big white watch and the key necklace add a few nice details to the outfit. Experiment with different kinds of pendants for the necklace, and choose one that really shows off your personality. Finally, the bag gives it sort of a beachy summer vibe and also compliments the dress and the heels.

Outfit #3

Here, we are breaking away from Leigh Anne's typical nude pumps. Instead, we have a plain white dress with an off white belt at the waist, and instead of nude pumps, we have mint green pumps! Mint green is a fresh change up for the nude pumps, and the green earrings to match! But have no fear, those who do love the nude, we have a nuetral colored bag to tote around all your essentials :)

Hope you enjoyed my first "Inspired by" post. Please please please leave feedback in the comments, I am very new to this and I would love to know what I need to improve on! Have you seen The Blind Side? Give your opinion!
