Designer Crush: Charlotte Olympia

Ever since I wrote my post on clutches, I've been thinking about those gorgeous clutches designed by Charlotte Olympia. I seriously cannot get her designs out of my head - both shoes and bags. She definitely knows how to have fun with designs while still making them luxurious and wearable.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be studying but instead I'm going to share with you 10 of my favorite Charlotte Olympia shoe designs. God knows it's so hard to choose.

Images from Farfetch and Charlotte Olympia's website.

She draws her inspiration for her brand from the 1940's and up. I love the inspiration she took from Lucky Strike cigarettes for the "lucky girl" clutch.

Who is your designer crush right now?

The Color Pink Makes Everything Look Pretty

I woke up today with an insane craving for anything fruity. I got a Snapple Apple when I went grocery shopping earlier but the craving is still going strong. Ugh. Also I had no earthly idea that almond milk was so good! Why didn't anyone tell me?!

After I went shopping I was browsing the Kate Spade website earlier and got a little pink inspiration. Seems fitting since I have this insatiable fruit craving. I could reaaaalllly go for a passion tea lemonade from Starbucks right about now. I'm in a more colorful mood today than I was while doing my last post I guess!

Think Pink Kate Spade

3 of my favorite Kate Spade items right now. I don't own a lot of hats - mainly because I just don't think to put them on when I'm leaving - but lately I've been obsessed. I really really want that purse because I need a new one and I love those colors together. And you all know I'm all about scarves whenever and wherever.

MAC Pink Nouveau

Hopefully this craving will subside soon, but at least it's not a chocolate craving. When I start craving chocolate I have to have it right at that moment or everyone will die.

Sigh, we shall see. Are you feeling the pink vibe too?

Inspired by: Stevie Nicks!

For the rest of the summer, I'm going to be stealing Stevie Nicks's style. I LOVE Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. Seriously I'm obsessed. I found making this post very difficult, because it's pretty hard to imitate her style. Mostly bohemian but she takes it a liiiitle further.

"I think they all went too far. Their jeans got too low, their tops got too see-through. Personally, I think that sexy is keeping yourself mysterious. I'm really an old-fashioned girl, and I think I'm totally sexy" -Stevie Nicks

Flowy everything was a staple in her style. ALWAYS had long necklaces, a big cross necklace, or a moon necklace.

Stevie Nicks Bell Bottoms

There's an oh so famous shawl that she always wears and twirls around in. And of course, some aviators to top off the look! I was surprised at the amount of cute bell bottoms there are!

leather and lace

Stevie was always famous for wearing a bunch of black at once (glad I'm not the only one, practically my whole closet is black -___-) I just added a shawl, because we know how much she loves those, and a red lip just for some color. Side note: Leather and Lace is a Stevie Nicks song, just to clear that up.

Get a Stevie Nicks-esque crescent moon charm! You can wear it pretty much with anything. They have one on Amazon but I'm sure you can find them on Etsy or in another store. Halloween stores will probably be carrying them too.

If you can manage to find a dress or a shawl THAT flowy and free, go for it. I had a really hard time trying to find something that would do her justice. Again, you can probably find one on Etsy or something. They would be awesome when it starts getting colder, too.

Oh, did you know she made an appearance on American Horror Story? Yup! A character in that season named Misty completely idolized Stevie Nicks, and she made an appearance!

What do you think? Do you like Fleetwood Mac and/or Stevie Nicks as much as I am currently? My favorite songs right now are Tusk and Seven Wonders right now, check them out!
Would you try to dress like Stevie Nicks on a regular basis? Use her as a bohemian inspiration? Or play it safe and save it for Halloween?

Tiffany Time

I realized that even though my blog name is "Breakfast at Gracey's", I haven't done very many posts regarding Breakfast at Tiffany's or Tiffany's at all for that matter. So in honor of the movie and Tiffany's, here is some Tiffany & Co. inspiration!

photo taken by me :)

"What I found does the most good is just to get into a taxi and go to Tiffany's. It calms me down right away, the quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there" -Holly Golightly in Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's

The pendant above is what my lovely boyfriend got me for our anniversary. 2 years! :) I couldn't be happier, he's the best! I still have to get a chain for it--right now I'm using one from another necklace I have. I have yet to take it off (except to take a picture of it); it's pretty safe to say that this is my favorite necklace.

This post was originally going to be my thoughts on the movie vs. the book Breakfast at Tiffany's. However, I've seen the movie a million times and read the book once, so I think I'm going to read the book another time or two so that I can really give a good opinion on both. That and it's been a while since I read the book and I'm a bit foggy on the details.

That's it for now! I'm still looking for a good photo editing software for my Macbook so if anyone has suggestions, please let me know! Right now I'm using Gimp and I'm not really sure how I feel about it yet.

Halloween Inspiration: Where's Waldo?

I got the inspiration for this costume inspiration (hehe) from my mom, who needs a more toned down costume for work. Most costumes you will find at a Halloween store are probably not appropriate to wear to work or school or if you just aren't comfortable wearing anything too flashy.

Halloween Inspiration: Where's Waldo?

This costume is easy to create because you may already have some of the items in your closet, or you can reuse them on a regular basis if you have to buy new items. You're makeup can also be very neutral and easy, so you probably won't have to buy any new makeup for this either. This is perfect for work, if you don't want to spend a lot on a costume, or if you don't feel like going all out this Halloween!

Once again, let me know if you have any good costume ideas or what you are going to be this year :) Also, if you have a pet, do you dress your pet up for Halloween? If so, as what?

Halloween Inspiration: Robot/Alien

When I first started creating this, my intention was to create an alien costume (not you're typical ugly green alien either), but the more I looked at it the more it looks like a robot. So, take this however you see it. I am personally going to be an alien this year, wearing a costume somewhat similar to this :)

Tip: if you want to look more alien-esque rather than a robot, try to do some cool effects with your makeup. Check out this video tutorial for some ideas.

You could also try to find some green clothes instead of silver, but while I was shopping silver was MUCH easier to find.

Check back soon for some more Halloween costume ideas! :) Let me know if you have a suggestion or let me know what you are going to be this year!

Weekly Inspiration: Fall Time

I am so terribly sorry for the lack of posts since school has started! School + work has been kicking my butt. I'm going to try to do better and get up at least one post a week. The weather has been cooling down, and the end of September has arrived. I'm pretty excited because my birthday is next month and so is Halloween! Here is some fall/autumn/Halloween inspiration to get you all pumped!

I'm having such a hard time coming up with a Halloween costume. Are you dressing up for Halloween this year? If so, as what? What are you looking forward to most this fall?

Inspired by: The Roaring Twenties

I've always loved the 1920's. I think the only time I'm truly interested in history class is when we talk about the 1920's. It was such a new era for women, where they branched out from what society wanted to see from them.

I read the Great Gatsby in middle school and hated it, then read it again in high school and I loved it! Gooood book.

Are you inspired by the 1920's? What's your favorite time period in history?
