Currently Loving: Round Sunglasses

I've mentioned it before, but I just adore the 1970's as a fashion era. The patchwork skirts, the bold-patterned everything, scarves, suede, bell bottoms, fringe bags, bell sleeves, mini skirts and dresses...I could go on. But one of my all time favorite trends of the 70's that has made its way back around is round sunglasses.

Aren't they just lovely?! I'm lusting after that pair in the first picture, I just love the frames. It's odd because when I was younger, I used to despise large, round sunglasses. Now they are probably my favorite type!

And finally, these are my two pride and joys. Well, one pair is John's because he too, loves round sunglasses. I think he likes them because they make him look like a mad scientist, haha. Whatever the reason, I'm all for it because I get to borrow his sunglasses!

His are the pair with the octagon frames from Urban Outfitters, and mine are the plain black ones from Versona. With the weather warming up, I will be on the hunt for some new ones this spring. I'm going to try to venture out of my "just black" comfort zone this time.

What's your favorite silhouette for sunglasses?

Remember Vera Bradley?

Was Vera Bradley just popular in the south? I remember in middle and high school everyone had a Vera Bradley something. Those $34 lunch bags were pretty damn popular.

I'm sure you all remember these pricey paisley print cotton quilted bags. It was like everyone at the same time lost interest in Vera Bradley. I'm not a huge fan of the designs, but I have a large Vera Bradley tote bag that I use as an overnight bag, and that thing has lasted at least 6 or 7 years.

Today I saw an ad in Seventeen and it sparked my curiosity a little bit (effective advertising).

I don't understand the "I am" part, but it caught my attention for some reason. Anyway, I checked out the site out of curiosity. The printed quilted cotton bags are still available, the brand has branched out and has some solid color leather bags available as well. They are expensive, but it might be time to revisit Vera Bradley. Here are some Vera Bradley items available right now that I wouldn't mind owning.

2. Soft Fringe Scarf in Emerald Geometric - the scarves are definitely worth checking out.
4. Teardrop Earrings in Marrakesh - I don't think I'd like this pattern on a bag but I adore it on these earrings.

So there you have it, Vera Bradley might become relevant again, we'll see!

Were you ever a Vera Bradley fan? What do you think of the new and improved brand?

My Anjolee.com necklace giveaway ends on the 25th, so make sure you enter!

Inspired By: Wedding Season

Wedding season is officially in full force down here in the south.
They seem so stressful. The bride, bridesmaids, maid of honor, groom, and everyone involved in the planning process really. It takes a lot of hard work to get those sparkly champagne flutes with just the right amount of sparkle.
Sometimes you just can't make it to some of the events, which sucks! (or doesn't suck, depending on your feelings about wedding season).
But just because you can't go doesn't mean you can't still feel that feeling of dressing up in a clean, spring/summer outfit, decked out with flowy fabrics or frills, and of course the jewelry.

Wedding Season Casual

Of course you would never wear white to another girl's wedding, but you're in the clear since you aren't actually there. Pair it with some pastels, heart shaped sunglasses (feel the love?), and drink a yummy cocktail and toast to the happy couple in spirit.

Wedding Season: Borrowed & Blue

If you do miss the wedding/wedding event, it doesn't mean you can't get dressed up! Take to the real wedding spirit and wear something "borrowed and blue". So technically speaking, you don't even have to buy something new since it should be "borrowed". But again, who needs an excuse to buy a new nail polish?

I wish I had more weddings to attend this season. I love wedding atmospheres. Everyone is so dressed up, the decorations are almost always on point (thanks Pinterest!), and the bride always looks stunning. Oh well, I'll just take my own advice and dress for the season.

Ray-Ban Rare Prints

Ray-Bans were awesome to begin with, but now they have their Rare Print collection!

From The Sunglass Hut website:

"Own a piece of pop-art! Designed by illustrators, the Rare Prints frames are cool and funky.
Included in the collection is the exclusive Matt W. Moore model, only available at Sunglass Hut."

Above is a picture of the Matt W. Moore sunglasses (purchase here at Sunglass Hut). I think it's a cool, funky print! It really would look like you are wearing pop-art. I would buy these if I needed another pair of sunglasses, or if I had the money (like, $190 laying around). But, I am totally happy with my black Ray-Ban wayfarers. They are classic and will go with anything. But, I do encourage you lovelies to step outside your comfort zone and take risks such as wearing these. It takes guts, but I think you can do it ;)

Find the complete collection of Rare Prints on the Sunglass Hut website or Ray-Ban website.

What do you think? Would you wear some of these printed sunglasses?
