Custom Stationery Decision (Said In Layers)

I made a decision. Decision made. Last month I was having a terrible time deciding what personalized stationery I was going to get, and I even did an entire post on it.

I felt like I was buying a house or searching for the perfect wedding dress. I did so much searching and I was just not ready to settle for something that I just felt "meh" about, even though so many stationery sets I included in that post were beautiful! They were either too small for my liking, too pricey, were only one sided (I like folded notecards), or some other factor.

But just like in the movies when the bride to be is searching for her wedding dress, I found "the" stationery. And here it is...

I had about 10 tabs of different stationery options open and immediately closed them all once I read the details and decided that these cards fit all my criteria. They were made by Said In Layers on Etsy. I just want to frame one and put it on my wall!

Yesssss. I was starting to get discouraged on my hunt, because a lot of the designs I liked were only available on flat cards and I prefer folded cards. So you can imagine how excited I got when I found out these were folded notecards.

This is one of my favorite parts. When you open the envelope, my name is the first thing you see. So obviously whoever is opening the letter is going to get super excited when they see that! Haha, kidding (kind of).

It was within my price range, but custom stationery from anyone still is not cheap. So if you get a letter from me on one of these cards, you're special! Congratulations!

So if you're on the hunt for some custom stationery, I highly recommend Said In Layers (her name is Abbey if you want to go ask her any questions, she is super sweet). She also has regular stationery if you don't want to go the custom route, and she sells art prints as well.

Do you think I'm crazy for getting so excited over stationery?

Disney Princess Makeovers

I'd like to pretend I know a lot about art, but I don't. It's something I'd like to master, and I use the word "master" loosely, when I have spare time.
In my internet browsing time, I've seen a lot of revamped pictures of Disney princesses, and I'm a fan of most of the ones I see. It's cool to see modernized versions of my favorite characters from my childhood.

The Little Mermaid

Snow White

Jasmine

Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan

Rapunzel

Cinderella inspired outfit

Modern Cinderella

I realized while I was making this that I don't own any capris. I miss wearing them, I need to get on that!

I could post these all day, I have so many saved. But I'll spare you the time and leave with just these beautiful previews.

Which Disney princess is your favorite?

Summer 2015 Wishlist

It's warming up here, but I know how miserably hot and humid it's going to get in the next couple of months when summer REALLY hits. So I'm enjoying the weather as much as I can now!
I've had my eyes on a few different things recently as summer rolls around but I can't quite decide what I can afford to cross off my list. Why is everything so expensive?

Summer 2015 Wishlist

1. A Ralph Steadman print - Ralph Steadman did sketches for some of Hunter S. Thompson's books and articles. He's also done illustrations for some editions of Alice in Wonderland, Animal Farm, and Fahrenheit 451 just to name a few. The illustrations he did for Thompson are some of my favorites, as well as his Animal Behaviorist prints. I don't know why I'm so drawn to them! You can see some of his prints here

2. A new purse - I've been using the same boring Longchamp for too long, it's time for a new everyday purse.

3. This dress from Earthbound - I saw it on display while walking downtown and I fell in love. I love the hi lo length, and all of their clothes are so comfortable.

4. Bite Beauty Watercolor Lip Gloss Library - I'm not too familiar with Bite Beauty but since I've recently become infatuated with lip products, I've taken interest. I read reviews on this set and some said they were sticky (which bothers me), but I still want to give it a try. Does anyone own any Bite Beauty products?

5. Workout shorts - I have like 2 pairs that are suitable for pilates that still fit me.

6. Passion tea lemonade - A love of mine all year round! My favorite Starbucks drink - so fruity and sweet and pink.

7. Chocolate covered strawberries - yeah.

Have any of you tried the Bite Beauty lip glosses? Or any of their other products? I'm intrigued now.
What's on your summer wishlist?

Art Class Part 2

Earlier this week, I did a post on my art class and posted photos of what I accomplished this year (click here to read). As I promised, here are the rest of the pictures. Please excuse the bad quality, I had to take pictures of them on my Blackberry because my camera is dead.

Another drawing of my dog, a westie :) love him to pieces.

The hands from Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam". Click here to see original.

Blocks!

Random sunglasses

Horse and knight

An old roller skate.

Well, that's all of my art, at least for this year! If I take art next year, I'll upload more of my masterpieces haha :) Let me know what you think!

Re-Decorating- Art part 1

A few weeks ago, I was looking under the "apartment" section on the UO website, when I saw the print shop link. I clicked on it, looked around, and now I've found a billion new ways to spend my money on art.

You can buy an art print, a laptop skin, or and iPhone or iPod skin, if you haven't already heard seen it, you should definitely check it out!

Here are some of my favorites, which I am considering ordering to hang in my room.

Have you explored the UO print shop? What are your favorite places to buy art? Which of these are your favorites? Let me know what you think!

Art Class Part 1

I had a great sophomore year, and every day I went to art class 6th period. It started out as 5 people: J1, J2, M., L., and me. First, this whole drama happened, and basically J1 and our art teacher did not get along, and he dropped the class. Then, L. decides she wants to get home schooled. So that leaves J2, M., and me. Then J2 had to get surgery. And once he got back, M. had to get surgery also. Bottom line, I spent a lot of time in that class all alone. I got a lot of artwork done, which I'm posting here. I'm planning on framing them and hanging them around my room.

Please excuse the bad quality, my camera was not cooperating. And my camera is also dying, so I could only get two pictures in, the rest are coming later. Let me know what you think (I'm no Picasso, this is my first real art class)

I used a grid to do this. I drew it in pencil and colored it in colored pencil. It's from some calender of vintage art, or something like that I don't really remember. Anyway I had a lot of fun doing this and I think it turned out really well.

This is a picture I drew of my dog, Duffy. Well, his full name is Sir McDuff V, but we call him Duffy. He is a west highland white terrier. It was drawn using a grid, and colored with pastels. It looks a lot better when you look at it far away, up close it makes me notice things I should've done differently.
